One of the
benefits of being a pilot is that every now and then I get to go
on some really good all expense paid overnights to terrific
destinations. Since neither Amanda nor myself had ever been to
Canada's capital, we decided it would fun to explore this historic
city with all of its charm.
The leaves were
just starting to turn during that first week in October as we
strolled down the river to the locks, located right beside
Parliament. We also visited the other tourist destinations, Sussex
drive and the various outdoor street malls. The crisp, clean air tantalized our
senses with scents of pine and fermenting leaves. Ahhhh. The smell
of Canada in the fall.
When the day
came to a close, we found ourselves downstairs in a quaint Chinese
restaurant. The food was great and there was lots of it! What a
wonderful day trip to one of the most historical cities in Canada.
